A large group gathered for the final Songster rehearsal before the summer break on Wednesday 15th July 2015. Some were former members of the songsters and some who have never been Songsters (yet!!!!) and others who do not normally attend the Salvation Army joined with the current members of KCS. As usual, the practice began with those gathered raising the awareness of any prayer concerns and in turn these concerns were given over to God.
A number of folk had requested a certain song, which was special to them in some way, and so the evening was spent singing through various pieces, ranging from Richard Phillips “Victorious” to “Let A Little Sunshine” and lots in-between.
Songster Wendy Thompson spoke at the end of the practice about ‘memories’. Wondering what kind of memories the songs requested had evoked. After a closing prayer there was a chance to mingle and share fellowship whilst having much need refreshment after all the singing. Thanks to Songster Leader Mark Allan and Deputy SL Lyn Phillips for a rather lovely evening and for all your hard work during the past year.
