KCB Visit to Leicester South Corps 3rd October 2015

Kettering Citadel Band  were invited to Leicester South Corps to begin their Band Weekend on the 3rd October 2015.  Arriving at their impressive suite of buildings the band were greeted by an enthusiastic congregation.  On this occasion the band were pleased to have Lt. Col. Jack Hassard as the compere for the evening.  The evening started with “Call of the Gospel” and other pieces included, “Breezing Down Broadway”, “The Day of the Lord”, “Reflections” and “The Golden Pen”.  The congregation were also treated to a cornet duet from Gary Fountain and Chris Hunt who played “Synergy” and later in the evening the Trombone section were featured when the band played an arrangement of “When I Survey”.  It was good to be able to catch up with friends old and new and even some previous members of the band during the interval.  During the second half of the festival the band played “Fill the world with Glory”, “Prelude to Lavenham”, “Fire in the Blood” and finished the evening off with the traditional march “Rousseau” at break-neck speed.  Thanks once again to the Band for their ministry and especially to Bandmaster Richard Phillips and Band Secretary David Randle for all their efforts in arranging the evening.
