Thomas Ivor Jones was enrolled as a Junior Soldier at Kettering Citadel Corps on Sunday 11th October 2015 by Major Paul Doust. Thomas was surrounded by friends and family for this special event. Prior to the enrollment ceremony, the Senior Band played the March “Manhattan”, a request from Thomas. As he came to the platform he was joined by his two grandfathers, one who held the flag and the other would play the piano. Thomas read his Junior Soldier promise clearly and then signed his certificate at the mercy seat. During his testimony, Thomas thanked those who had helped him on his journey so far and come to support him today and expressed his wish to follow Jesus and asked everyone to help him as he tries to keep the promises he made today.
The meeting was led by Lt. Col. Jack Hassard who spoke on “Having Faith”. There was a very special atmosphere in the hall this morning and those who were privileged to be in attendance left feeling refreshed by the words he spoke. The Songsters sang an appropriate song, “ There’s never been a mountain that the Lord cannot move” or in otherwords, if we have Faith then there is nothing that we cannot do or cope with, with Gods’ help! Thank you Lt. Col Jack for your ministry this morning and well done Thomas, we will continue to pray for you.
