About us – Today

300px-Kettering_CitadelTHE SALVATION ARMY IN KETTERING

Today we, as a corps [church], are made up of people from varied walks of life. Throughout the week  there are many activities as can be seen in the weekly activities & calendar sections.

Our buildings are accessible to wheelchair users. The main hall is carpeted and has comfortable seats. There is an amplification system that includes a facility for hearing aids on ‘T’ together with a comprehensive “multimedia” set-up.

The Salvation Army style of worship is very easy to follow and visitor-friendly and you don’t have to be a member or wear uniform. The morning worship starts at 10am and usually lasts just over an hour.  Music plays an important part in our time with the Lord and so you can usually expect our band & songsters [choir] to take part. We enjoy talking with Jesus and listening to His words so there are prayers, together with a bible reading and a sermon often based on this. Most Sunday’s our young people will take part and there is also a “Kids Alive” time for them “outside” the main meeting.
Afterwards there is a time for sharing with a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit.

Our evening meetings take a variety of forms – musical praise; bible classes; etc. Although usually held at 17:30 the timing of these meetings does vary – so call us for more details.
