For several years The Salvation Army in Kettering has worked with various others in the community to provide Christmas Presents and some food to those, in our town of Kettering, who are less fortunate than most.
Last year, in Kettering, with help from local schools, churches and other organisations, we were able to give a Christmas Parcel of food and gifts to many families – this included hundreds of children. The joy we saw in so many faces did our hearts good. It raised a smile on our faces as well as theirs!
At Christmas, in Kettering, over the last five years
- We provided over 1,000 parcels of food & gifts.
- To over 700 adults and over 1,700 children
We read in the papers that because of the difficult financial situation prevailing in our country many more people will be going without these items at this special time of year. So this Christmas The Salvation Army in Kettering is once again organising a food and new toy collection in Kettering
Kettering MP Philip Hollobone comments: “We are very fortunate in Kettering to have such an active local Salvation Army corps which every year organises a hugely popular Christmas parcels appeal. Thanks to the efforts of local Salvation Army volunteers and the generosity of Kettering people, Christmas presents and food parcels are delivered to those less fortunate than most. The appeal merits our generous support again this year.”
